Hello UES Families!
Wow! As I stated in my letter yesterday, we are all on one heck of a crazy roller coaster ride! Thank you to all of you for your patience and flexibility today as you made your way here to pick up your child’s materials. If you were not able to pick up your child’s laptop today, please come to the main lobby tomorrow between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. It is essential that all students have access to technology to be able to complete coursework.
Each UES teacher has created a Google Classroom to share learning expectations and assignments with your child. UES students are familiar with the Google Classroom platform and understand how to navigate to their classes. Parents may review the Getting Started with Google Classroom (linked below)document attached to this email if you would like more information about how your child will access his/her classes. Some students will still need to join Google Classrooms for some specials classes, related services, RMS classes, and resource classes. Classroom codes for those classes can be found by clicking HERE.
If you have trouble joining any classrooms, please send your child’s teacher an email. Teachers will be available to students each day between the hours of 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. UES students should complete work assigned in their core subjects each day. We will continue on our eight (A through H) letter day rotation for specials classes and students should complete the work assigned in the specials class that corresponds with the appropriate letter day. Tuesday, March 17, 2020, will be a “B” day for all UES students. The letter day will be posted in each homeroom teacher’s Google Classroom and on the UES website under the Quick Links section. Students are not required to complete all work within the 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM window, but they must complete all work by the teacher assigned due date.
MTPS will send an email daily to all parents and guardians for student attendance. A parent or guardian will need to post your child’s attendance in the GEnesis Portal each day. The directions for posting your child’s attendance will be explained in the email. If you have any trouble with attendance, please email email@example.com or email Tina Scholar at Tscholar@mtps.com.
We are truly going to miss seeing all of our Undeniably Excellent Students each day. Thank you all for your Undeniably Excellent Support of our students, staff, and new “online school”. Stay healthy and stay tuned…this ride isn’t over yet!
